Speaker: Saeed Hareb Managing Director Dubai International Marine Club
Comments: Saeed Harab comes from a family that has been seafarers in Dubai for centuries. He established the Dubai International Marine Club in the early 1990’s under the Chairmanship of His Majesty Sheikh Ahmad. He has developed DIMC to be the centre of all aspects of leisure boating including, Jet ski racing, Dhow racing, Class one power boat racing and sailing regattas.

Speaker: Dr Mohammed Hamdan
Comments: Dr Hamdan is involved in a variety of leisure marine businesses in the UAE including Gulf Craft where he is a shareholder and Director. He is also a passionate boat owner and a ‘mover and shaker’ in assisting the growth of the industry in the Middle East. He is renowned for his sense of humour!

Speaker: Isa Kooheji
Director for Kooheji Marine Bahrain.
Comments: Bahrain is developing its leisure marine infrastructure fast with 10 marina projects under way. Kooheji Manrine is now the worlds longest established Yamaha outboard dealer; for 45 years. Isa Kooheji will give an insight into the development of the marine business in Bahrain and also how it acts as a industry distribution centre for Saudi Arabia, Iran and Kuwait.

Speaker: Andrew Wagner
General Manager of Al Masaood in Abu Dhabi
Comments: AL Masaood are distributors for Volvo Penta engines in the UAE and also distribute a wide variety of Marine products to the trade throughout the Gulf and Africa. Andrew Wagner hails from Australia and has spent 4 years with Al Masaood as General Manager. He will provide an insight into how to set up a successful distribution network in the Middle East ranging from cultural aspects to agency agreements.

Speaker: Amna Al Jallaf
Partner in Ince Al Jallaf and Co Dubai
Comments: Ms Amna Al Jallaf is an Arab Lawyer practising in Dubai and will provide an insight into Islamic financing which is becoming increasingly important for the sale of yachts and boats in the region.

Speaker: Gautama Dutta of Marine Solutions based in Mumbai
Comments: India is rapidly emerging as a global economic power and leisure boating is growing in turn. Gautama Dutta is one of the pioneers of the industry in India, a keen sailor and involved in importing leisure boat brands from the Gulf, Italy and France.
Time: 1035 Title: Security issues for boating from Super Yachts to Sailing boats – Advice from an expert
Speaker: Andy Bates of Special Project and Services Ltd Hereford UK
Comments: This session addresses security issues that interest boat manufacturers, dealers and equipment suppliers who are dealing in an increasingly global market.. Andy was a serving member of Armed Forces in the UK and since leaving has worked all over the Middle East and Asia on projects related to maritime security.

Time: 1130 Title: Boating regulations in the GCC – Results of the Arab Marine Industry Survey.
Speaker: Speaker from the Arab Marine Industries Association
Comments: This topic is a key issue for the industry as the industry starts to grow rapidly in the region. The survey will present the rules and regulations as they currently exist and will lead in to the final session.
Time: 1200 Title: Boating in the GCC – Can it be made user friendly? Group discussion led by a panel of experts building on the results of the AMIA survey
